Virginia Tech Football Camp2006 HOKIE FOOTBALL TEAM CAMP

JULY 9TH - 11TH, 2006 - FOR AGES 13 TO RISING SENIOR

FORMAT

SEVEN (7) or more campers constitute a team.

This is a three-day, non-contact residential or day camp specifically designed for team development, team competition, and lineman fundementals. This camp is primarily devoted to training individual positions and coaches in methods found successful at Virginia Tech. There will be opportunities for coaches to install, drill, and practice with their own teams. Linemen will taught fundementals of offensive and defensive line play during team competition. ALL TEAMS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY ONE (1) HIGH SCHOOL COACH.


Individual Campers (if you do not have a full 7 member "Team" to sign up with) may participate in the Virginia Tech Team Football Camp as DAY CAMPERS ONLY. Please see the Day Camper info just below.


CAMP COST

RESIDENT CAMPER - $285
(Resident Fee Includes a $50 Refundable Key Deposit)

DAY CAMPER - $200
The resident camper fee includes instruction, meals, lodging, refundable key deposit and T-shirt. Day campers will be charged $200.00 which includes lunch, dinner, and all privileges. A $150.00 non-refundable deposit must accompany all applications. BALANCE OF PAYMENT IS DUE BEFORE MAY 31, 2006. Upon receipt of the deposit and application, further information will be forwarded. Camp enrollment is limited. PLEASE APPLY EARLY. The camp sold out in May in 2005.

OBJECTIVE
The objective of The Hokie Football Team Camp is to provide through expert instruction an opportunity for boys of different ages and abilities to develop the techniques of individual and team play necessary in football.

Each of the following four specialties are taught and supervised by the Virginia Tech Football Staff:

1. Quarterback or receiving skills and techniques
2. Pass defense skills and techniques
3. Line blocking skills, techniques, and agility
4. Pass rush skills, techniques, and agility

SUPERVISION
Coach Frank Beamer and his assistant football coaches will be working directly with the campers and will provide constant supervision along with Mike Goforth, Virginia Tech’s Head Football Trainer. Also serving as coaches during the camp will be several outstanding high school and college coaches.

HOUSING
The boys will have the opportunity to eat, sleep, practice, and live in much the same manner as a college football player. They will be housed according to age in a Tech dormitory. The Virginia Tech coaches, counselors, and special guests will live in the dorm along with the campers.

FACILITIES
All activities will be conducted on the Virginia Tech campus which has one of the most modern and complete athletic facilities in the country. Practice will be conducted on the practice field. Also available for use is the field house adjacent to the practice field that houses a complete football field and affords all weather practice.

MEDICAL
The Hokie Football Camp will provide medical/accident insurance after parental insurance has been exhausted. A certified athletic trainer will attend all sessions and a physician will be on call in case he is needed.
ALL CAMPERS MUST HAVE INSURANCE.

WHAT TO BRING
Upon receipt of the camper’s application for camp and full payment, a list of what to bring, along with camper guidelines and medical forms will be mailed.
