The Virginia Tech football team has officially partnered with the United Way for the 2006 season! The partnership will be multi-faceted, beginning with a fundraising effort starting now through the rest of 2006, through the sale of "TEAM UNITED" bracelets. Please see below for ordering details!

In addition, Virginia Tech players will lend their time and efforts to volunteering in the community at agencies coordinated by the United Way of Montgomery, Radford & Floyd.

For the 2006 season, the Hokie football team has adopted the theme of "TEAM: Communication, Trust, Responsibility, Caring and Respect." The TEAM logo you see below, will be featured prominently throughout Virginia Tech football this year, most notably on special T-Shirts the Tech players will wear before games, as well as at many other times throughout the season.

Partnering with the United Way, the "TEAM" ideals will be able to reach beyond the locker room and playing field and into the community!

But Coach Beamer, the staff, and the team also want to extend the TEAM UNITED campaign and concept to the great fans and alumni of Virginia Tech! The Hokies and the United Way need your support!

"I've always said we have the best fans in the nation here at Virginia Tech," Coach Frank Beamer noted. "We're really going to need their support this year, and I can't think of a better way for them to support Tech football than through the TEAM UNITED fundraising drive. The United Way is such a worthy cause, and I can promise you Virginia Tech football is behind it 100%. I'm confident the great fans and alumni of Virginia Tech will get behind it as well. We're all in this thing together, and together we can make a difference."

The Virginia Tech football players and staff will proudly display their bracelets this season! And they would like all Hokie fans to do the same, holding their fists high with their TEAM UNITED bracelets in full view to show your unity with the TEAM!

To show your TEAM UNITED support with the Hokies and the United Way, get your TEAM UNITED bracelets and wear them proudly! WHAT'S NEW FOR 2006? Each bracelet is $1 each. Proceeds from the sale of the TEAM UNITED bracelets will go into a donation to the United Way of Montgomery County, Radford, and Floyd, from Virginia Tech Football at the end of the season.
